The short answer is no, not safely at the strengths nic salts are designed for. Here is why sub-ohm tanks and high-strength nic salts are incompatible and what you should use in each type of device instead.
Quick Answer: You should not use 10mg or 20mg nic salts in a sub-ohm tank. Sub-ohm tanks operate at high wattages and vaporise large amounts of e-liquid per puff. At these volumes, even 10mg nic salts deliver an unsafe amount of nicotine very rapidly, causing dizziness, nausea and a racing heart. If you use a sub-ohm device, use freebase e-liquid at 3mg or 6mg in a high-VG shortfill instead. The only exception is very low-strength nic salts (3mg or 5mg) used carefully at reduced wattage.
A sub-ohm tank uses a coil with a resistance below 1.0ohm, typically in the range of 0.15ohm to 0.5ohm, at wattages of 30W to 100W or more. Sub-ohm coils have large wicking ports designed for thick, high-VG liquid at 70/30 or higher. The 50/50 VG/PG ratio of nic salt e-liquid is much thinner. In a sub-ohm tank this thin liquid floods through the wicking ports and leaks into the airflow system, making a mess and potentially reaching the battery housing in a mod.
Nic salt e-liquid is smooth in a low-wattage pod kit because the vapour temperature and volume are controlled. In a sub-ohm setup running at 60W or more, the same liquid is heated aggressively and produces a large vapour volume that overwhelms the smooth salt formulation, often resulting in a harsh, uncomfortable inhale.
Sub-ohm coils run at high temperatures designed for viscous high-VG liquid that provides consistent wicking. The thinner 50/50 nic salt liquid wicks too rapidly through these coils, cannot keep up with the heat and causes the cotton wick to burn. A burnt coil produces an unpleasant taste and must be replaced.
